Our purpose in organising these events is to take advantage of our historic buildings as excellent performance spaces and to contribute much needed funds to the cost of their upkeep.

These concerts have been growing since a successful first venture in 2008. The following year Orlando Jopling visited us as part of his Cello Pilgrimage, and a pattern of concerts using our two churches was established. In addition to the  weekend of Summer Music we arrange occasional concerts at other times of the year. Music at Thornham is an initiative of the churchwardens and PCC of Thornham Magna and Thornham Parva, supported by the Friends of St Mary Magdalene. Any surplus funds from these concerts goes to support the fabric of our two churches.
